Alireza Askari Murders Paria Veisi

Alireza Askari murdered his estranged wife, Paria Veisi, less than two weeks after she ended their marriage. He fatally stabbed her in the neck and upper chest at his United Kingdom — Cardiff property on April 12, 2025. Following the murder, Alireza Askari, with the assistance of his aunt Maryam Delavary, concealed Paria Veisi's body in a makeshift grave in his garden, covering it with soil, concrete slabs, and newly purchased flowers from Kingfisher plc — B&Q. Alireza Askari also impersonated Paria Veisi to her employer via text message and moved her car to further cover up the crime. He had purchased the murder weapons from Tesco. Alireza Askari initially pleaded guilty to manslaughter and preventing a lawful burial but later admitted to murder, receiving a life sentence with a minimum term of 25 years and 37 days. Maryam Delavary pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice and was sentenced to five years and six months imprisonment for her role in the cover-up.
