Allahabad High Court Rejects Sambhal Prayer Limit

Justices Atul Sreedharan and S. Siddharth stated that local authorities, including the Superintendent of Police and Collector, should resign or seek transfer if they are unable to maintain law and order without limiting religious worship. The court emphasized the state's duty to ensure peaceful worship for all communities in designated places, especially on private property, where state permission is not required unless activities spill over into public land. The ruling came after Munazir Khan filed a petition alleging he was prevented from conducting prayers. The next hearing is scheduled for March 16.
