India Supreme Court on Green Cover

The India — Supreme Court of India has emphasized the need for a holistic approach to green cover management, stating that the focus should not be solely on India — Delhi. The court directed the India — Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change to formally constitute the India — Delhi Ridge Management Board (DRMB) with statutory status, making it a single-window authority for matters related to the India — Delhi Ridge. The DRMB was constituted on December 1, 2025, and includes officials from the Central and India — Delhi governments, forest departments, NGOs, and a representative from the Empowered Committee. The India — Supreme Court of India has also asked the Central government to file an affidavit detailing all statutory and non-statutory committees dealing with forest and green areas to identify overlaps and clarify their statutory framework.
