Spotify's 'Loud & Clear' annual report for 2025 revealed that Nigerian artists generated over N60 billion in revenue from music streaming on the platform. This represents a significant increase of more than 140% over the past two years, driven by both local and global demand for Nigerian music. The report also noted that Nigerian artists accounted for over 80% of tracks on Spotify Nigeria's Daily Top 50 and were featured in nearly 320 million user playlists worldwide. Independent artists and labels contributed approximately 58% of all royalties, and local streams of Nigerian female artists grew by 55% year-on-year. Jocelyne Muhutu-Remy, Managing Director for Africa at Spotify, emphasized the industry's strong creativity and global influence, reinforcing Spotify's role in fostering sustainable careers for Nigerian creators.
