Glasgow Central Station Full Reopening

Glasgow Central railway station is fully reopening on March 25, more than two weeks after a fire in a nearby vape shop on Union Street on March 8 caused significant damage to a Victorian building and led to the station's closure. Network Rail Scotland, in coordination with Scotland — Glasgow City Council, managed the partial reopening of platforms seven to 15 on March 18, followed by the full reopening of all platforms. Demolition work on the fire-damaged building and safety checks were crucial for the reopening. Train operators such as ScotRail, Avanti West Coast, TransPennine Express, CrossCountry, and Caledonian Sleeper will resume their normal timetables. First Minister John Swinney announced up to £10 million in financial support for Scotland — Glasgow City Council and affected businesses.
