OpenAI Launches GPT-5.4 Mini, Nano

OpenAI has introduced two new AI models, GPT-5.4 mini and GPT-5.4 nano, designed for faster performance and lower costs in high-volume workloads. GPT-5.4 mini offers significant improvements in coding, reasoning, and image understanding, running over twice as fast as its predecessors and approaching the performance of the larger GPT-5.4 system. It is available to all ChatGPT free-tier and ChatGPT Go users, as well as through OpenAI's API and Codex. GPT-5.4 nano, the smallest and most affordable version, is tailored for tasks like classification, data extraction, and simple coding operations, primarily accessible via OpenAI's API. These models support multimodal inputs and are intended for applications where response time is critical, such as coding assistants and real-time image analysis. The release aims to expand access to advanced AI capabilities to a broader user base and enhance developer workflows.
