Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Opens Admissions

The India — Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has officially opened the online registration process for Balvatika and Class 1 admissions for the 2026-27 academic session, starting March 20, 2026, and concluding on April 2, 2026. The process is conducted through the official online admissions portal, admission.kvs.gov.in. Eligibility criteria include age limits (e.g., 6-8 years for Class 1 as of March 31, 2026) with some relaxation for Children with Special Needs. The admission process involves a lottery system, with reservations for categories like Right to Education (RTE), Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) Non-Creamy Layer. Priority is also given based on parents' employment categories, such as Central Government employees. Provisional lists for admissions will be released in April 2026.
