Powerica's IPO is expected to have a muted listing, with a grey market premium indicating a small premium over the issue price. The event provides an opportunity for investors to subscribe for long-term investment, despite some concerns about Powerica's inconsistent financial performance and declining profits.
Powerica, a power solutions company, is launching its initial public offering (IPO) to raise ₹1,100 crore. The IPO, which opens from March 24 to March 27, 2026, consists of a fresh issue of shares worth ₹700 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of ₹400 crore by promoter selling shareholders, including Naresh Oberoi Family Trust and Kabir and Kimaya Family Private Trust. Powerica plans to use ₹525 crore from the fresh issue proceeds to repay certain borrowings, with the remaining funds for general corporate purposes. The company has set the price band between ₹375 and ₹395 per share. Powerica has already raised ₹329.40 crore from anchor investors, including Kotak Mahindra Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund. Shares are expected to list on the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE on April 2. While Powerica experienced revenue growth in fiscal 2025, its profit after tax declined. Analysts have given mixed recommendations, with some advising 'Subscribe for Long-Term Investment' due to Powerica's market position and growth prospects, while others suggest caution for risk-tolerant, long-term investors due to decreasing profits and valuation concerns.
