Rupali Chakankar Resigns Amid Kharat Scandal

Rupali Chakankar, Chairperson of the India — Maharashtra State Women's Commission and President of the India — Nationalist Congress Party – Sharadchandra Pawar women's wing, resigned from both positions. Her resignations followed instructions from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and public outcry over her alleged close association with self-styled godman Ashok Kharat, who was arrested on charges of sexual assault and rape.
