DRI Seizes Illegal Goods at Nhava_Sheva

The India — Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized 11,060 prohibited walkie-talkie sets and second-hand hard disk drives (HDDs) valued at Rs 9.25 crore at India — Jawaharlal Nehru Port Port in Navi Mumbai. A father-son duo, owners of two Mumbai firms, were arrested under the Customs Act for importing these goods without due permissions. The Baofeng BF-888S walkie-talkies were blacklisted by the India — Department of Telecommunications for national security concerns, and second-hand HDDs require authorization from the India — Directorate General of Foreign Trade. The entire consignment, valued at Rs 30.25 crore and shipped from China, was seized for misdeclaration.
