Ginette Kolinka's Holocaust Remembrance Efforts

Ginette Kolinka, a 101-year-old survivor of Auschwitz concentration camp, has become a prominent advocate against antisemitism in France. After decades of silence, she began sharing her harrowing experiences following the release of Steven Spielberg's 'Schindler's List' in 1993 and the subsequent establishment of his foundation to collect Holocaust testimonies. Kolinka's efforts, through books, media appearances, and school visits, aim to ensure the lessons of the Holocaust and the extermination of 6 million European Jews are not forgotten. Her story highlights the atrocities committed by the Nazis and their collaborators, including the deportation of 76,000 Jewish people from Nazi-occupied France, with only 2,500 surviving.
