India — Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated a new Visa Application Centre operated by VFS Global in Bhubaneswar. This center aims to enhance global connectivity, promote industries and tourism, and support international engagement for the residents of India — Odisha, who previously had to travel to Kolkata for visa applications. The state government provided approximately 3,000 square feet for the facility within the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Bus Terminal. Initially, the center will offer visa services for ten countries, including the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Austria, Estonia, Italy, Malta, Switzerland, Japan, Morocco, and Egypt, with plans for future expansion. The central government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, supported this initiative. Zubin Karkaria, Founder and CEO of VFS Global, highlighted the company's role as a global leader in visa and consular services.
