ITC Limited's record iron ore production and sales are expected to positively impact its stock performance and market valuation. This achievement also signals robust growth in India's mineral and steel sectors, supporting broader economic development and infrastructure projects.
ITC Limited, India's largest iron ore producer, achieved a historic milestone in FY26 by producing 53.15 million tonnes of iron ore, becoming the first company in India's mining history to surpass the 50 million tonnes annual production mark. This represents a 21% year-over-year growth in production, with sales reaching 50.23 million tonnes, a 13% increase. The record output was driven by strong performance from its major iron ore mines in Kirandul and Bacheli in India — Chhattisgarh and Donimalai in India — Karnataka. In FY26, ITC Limited also expanded its operations by inaugurating an international office in United Arab Emirates — Dubai, operationalizing its first coal mine in India — Jharkhand, and commissioning Deposit 4 at Bailadila in India — Chhattisgarh. CMD Amitava Mukherjee stated that ITC Limited is augmenting capacities to achieve over 100 million tonnes of iron ore production capacity by 2030, aligning with India's vision of Viksit Bharat.
