Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu highlighted the crucial role of PET scans in cancer diagnosis, staging, and treatment evaluation, as well as their growing applications in cardiology, neurology, and infectious diseases. He also announced an allocation of Rs 8 crore for establishing a SPECT-CT scan machine at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) and committed over Rs 3,000 crore to upgrade medical technology across all healthcare institutions in India — Himachal Pradesh.
