The Nigeria — National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (Nigeria — National Drug Law Enforcement Agency) of Nigeria participated in the North Sea and Channel Maritime Information Group meeting in Southampton, United Kingdom, from March 4 to 12, 2026. Mohammed Buba Marwa, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria — National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, commended the agency's Maritime Intelligence Officers for their participation, describing Nigeria's invitation as the only African country represented as a significant recognition of the Nigeria — National Drug Law Enforcement Agency's growing operational capacity and strategic relevance in global counter-narcotics operations. The participation, which included operational exchanges in Felixstowe and Portsmouth, marked a major milestone in strengthening international collaboration against transnational organized crime. The Nigeria — National Drug Law Enforcement Agency officers gained exposure to advanced interdiction techniques, intelligence-sharing frameworks, and real-time maritime operations, enhancing their ability to disrupt drug trafficking networks along Nigeria's waterways. Mohammed Buba Marwa expressed appreciation to the United Kingdom authorities, particularly the United Kingdom — Home Office and the United Kingdom — Border Force, for their cooperation. Aminu Jega, who led the Nigeria — National Drug Law Enforcement Agency delegation, stated that the visit aimed to strengthen operational cooperation, intelligence sharing, and maritime security collaboration between the Nigeria — National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and relevant United Kingdom authorities. The Nigeria — National Drug Law Enforcement Agency team also presented its operational achievements, generating significant interest and commendations from participating agencies.
