Bombay HC Quashes Suicide Abetment Case

The ruling emphasized that there must be direct instigation or 'mens rea' (guilty intention) for an abetment charge to stand, and that words uttered in anger are not sufficient. The court noted that the husband's suicide note did not implicate the woman, and that allegations of ill-treatment were mutual between the spouses.
