Bushehr Nuclear Plant Struck Again

The Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in Iran has been subjected to its fourth projectile strike in recent weeks, as reported by Iran to the International — International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The latest incident resulted in the death of a security staff member and caused damage to a building within the facility, although no increase in radiation levels was detected. Rafael Grossi, Director General of the IAEA, expressed deep concern, reiterating that nuclear power plants must never be targeted and calling for maximum military restraint. The incidents, including a previous attack on the Natanz Nuclear Facility, have raised global alarm over nuclear safety in conflict zones. Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, warned of severe regional consequences, including potential radioactive fallout affecting Gulf countries. The Bushehr plant, Iran's only operational nuclear power facility, was built with Russian assistance and is crucial for Iran's civilian energy program.
