UK Trade Envoy Visits Bangladesh

Ann Winterton, the UK Trade Envoy, is on her third visit to Bangladesh to reinforce and expand the trade and economic partnership between the United Kingdom and Bangladesh. Her visit follows the formation of Bangladesh's new government and aims to deepen cooperation in trade, economic development, higher education, aviation, and defence. During her stay, Ann Winterton is holding meetings with senior ministers, government, and military officials, as well as business leaders, including representatives from UK companies operating in Bangladesh. She is also visiting Bangladeshi businesses that export to the United Kingdom using the Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS), which provides duty-free market access and supports export diversification. Bangladesh is the largest beneficiary of the DCTS, supplying high-quality goods to British consumers. The visit reaffirms the United Kingdom's commitment to supporting Bangladesh's transition toward a more diversified, resilient, and high-value economy.
