Pakistan Finance Minister Meets Fan Industry

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Muhammad Aurangzeb, held a virtual meeting with representatives from the electricity fan industry, including members of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) and Pakistan Electric Fan Manufacturers Association (PEFMA). The discussions focused on sectoral challenges, export potential, and avenues for policy support. The industry highlighted its indigenous manufacturing capacity, significant employment contribution, and export footprint in the Middle East and Africa. A key topic was the transition to energy-efficient DC fan technology, with the industry expressing readiness for large-scale replacement of conventional fans. Muhammad Aurangzeb emphasized the need to address implementation gaps, improve coordination with financial institutions, and review financing frameworks to facilitate investment in productive capacity. Concerns were also raised regarding the availability and utilization of raw materials like Copper and Aluminium, and the impact of their raw form exports on domestic value-added manufacturing. The meeting also covered SME liquidity, tax refunds, export facilitation, and tariff structures. Muhammad Aurangzeb reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting value-added manufacturing and export-oriented sectors, stressing the importance of continued dialogue for policy formulation and economic planning.
