The positive Phase 2 results for lunsekimig in respiratory diseases are expected to have a positive impact on Sanofi's stock price and future market valuation, as it reinforces the company's pipeline and potential for new revenue streams. The mixed results for atopic dermatitis are less impactful but still noted.
Sanofi announced positive results from its Phase 2 clinical trials for lunsekimig, a novel bispecific Nanobody VHH designed to block TSLP and IL-13. The AIRCULES phase 2b study for moderate-to-severe asthma and the DUET phase 2a study for chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps both met their primary and key secondary endpoints, demonstrating significant reductions in exacerbations and improvements in lung function and nasal polyp scores, respectively. However, the exploratory VELVET phase 2b study for moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis did not meet its primary endpoint, although improvements were observed in key secondary endpoints. Across all studies, lunsekimig was well tolerated. Houman Ashrafian, Executive Vice President, Head of Research & Development at Sanofi, highlighted the promising data and the drug's potential as a novel treatment option for respiratory diseases.
