Rigetti Launches 108-Qubit Quantum System

Rigetti Computing announced the general availability of its 108-qubit quantum computing system, Cepheus-1-108Q, on April 7, 2026. This system, Rigetti Computing's highest qubit-count to date, is now accessible to customers and partners through the Rigetti Quantum Cloud Services (QCS) Platform and Amazon Braket. The Cepheus-1-108Q system is based on Rigetti Computing's proprietary chiplet-based architecture, comprising twelve interconnected 9-qubit chiplets, tripling the qubits from its previous 36-qubit system. The system currently performs at a 99.1% median two-qubit gate fidelity and 99.9% median single-gate fidelity. Rigetti Computing plans to continue improving the system's performance throughout 2026, aiming for a median 99.5% two-qubit gate fidelity later this year. Subodh Kulkarni, CEO of Rigetti Computing, highlighted this as a milestone validating their approach to scaling quantum computers. Arabella Advisors, General Manager of Amazon Braket, noted that the addition of Cepheus-1-108Q provides global customers with more choices for quantum computing applications.
