Ukraine Drone Strikes Russian Tanker

Ukrainian forces, operating in western Libya under a covert deal backed by Western countries including the United States, used Libyan territory to strike the Russian-flagged Arctic Metagaz tanker in the Mediterranean. The Arctic Metagaz, carrying 61,000 tons of Liquefied natural gas and part of Russia's 'shadow fleet', was badly damaged in a sea drone attack in early March. This event highlights Ukraine's military innovation in drone technology and its efforts to counter Russia's invasion. The deployment of Ukrainian forces in Libya is seen as part of NATO's strategy to keep the region out of Russia's influence. The deal was made with Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh's government in Libya, a nation already split by a decade-long conflict. Massad Boulos, a US adviser, has proposed a settlement for the Libyan conflict, which includes appointing Saddam Haftar as head of the presidential council.
