Graphite and Forge Nano have entered a Joint Product Development Agreement to evaluate Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) coating technology on natural graphite from Graphite's Lac Knife project in Canada — Quebec. The program aims to generate performance data for battery applications, focusing on improving cycle life, fast charging capability, and material stability. This initiative seeks to determine if ALD can be a viable, more energy-efficient alternative to conventional pitch coating. The results are expected to inform future scale-up, customer engagement, and funding pathways, positioning Lac Knife graphite for higher-performance roles in North American energy and defense supply chains. Forge Nano's subsidiary, Forge Battery, is also advancing a U.S.-based lithium-ion manufacturing facility with support from the United States — United States Department of Energy, further emphasizing the importance of advanced material technologies.
