The positive drilling results from Aldebaran Resources' Altar project are expected to positively impact the company's stock price and investor confidence, as they de-risk the project and move it closer to production. The extension of tax incentives by Argentina's President Javier Milei also provides a favorable regulatory environment for mining investments in the country.
Aldebaran Resources announced positive infill drilling results from its Altar copper-gold project in San Juan, Argentina. The drilling program, which included five holes, aimed to upgrade inferred resources to measured and indicated categories, a crucial step for the upcoming pre-feasibility study (PFS). Key highlights include significant copper equivalent intercepts, such as 936 meters of 0.66% CuEq. The company has engaged FTI Consulting Inc. for the mineral resource estimate and as lead consultants for the PFS, with Knight Piésold as a subcontractor and Whittle Consulting Ltd for mine plan optimization. The scope of the PFS has broadened, pushing its expected completion to Q2/Q3-2027. Additionally, President Javier Milei of Argentina extended the deadline for RIGI tax incentives to July 2027, which Aldebaran Resources plans to utilize.
