The successful deployment of the AI-based solution by Globant for CMPC demonstrates the increasing importance of AI in regulatory compliance and supply chain management, potentially boosting investor confidence in Globant's technological capabilities. For CMPC, this enhances its operational efficiency and mitigates risks associated with the European Union's Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which could positively impact its market perception and access to European markets.
Globant, a digitally native company, announced the successful deployment of an AI-based supply chain traceability and compliance solution for CMPC, a global pulp, paper, and packaging company. This solution, built on SAP Clean Core principles and SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), automates document extraction and compliance workflows using Machine Learning and AI. It has significantly reduced manual traceability processes from up to 12 days to approximately 3 minutes, enabling 99.9% faster processing and real-time regulatory reporting. This initiative helps CMPC ensure full adherence to the European Union's Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which requires companies to demonstrate that products placed on the European market are not linked to deforestation. José Antonio Valdés of CMPC and Santiago Noziglia of Globant highlighted the solution's role in upholding zero deforestation commitments and transforming regulatory pressure into operational advantage. The project positions CMPC as a leader in AI-enabled regulatory compliance within its industry.
