Deakin University, Telangana, Aikam AI MoU

Deakin University, Australia, and the Government of India — Telangana, through Aikam, have formalized a landmark partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to advance collaboration in applied artificial intelligence (AI), skilling, research, and innovation. The MoU was signed at the India — Telangana State Secretariat by Iain Martin, President and Vice-Chancellor of Deakin University, and Phani Nagarjuna, Founding CEO of Aikam. The collaboration will establish the Aikam-Deakin Hub for Research in Intelligent Technology & Innovation (Aikam-DHRITI), a Joint Centre of Excellence in Applied Artificial Intelligence. This initiative focuses on AI skilling and education, research and applied innovation, and ecosystem and industry engagement, with a shared vision to harness AI for public good, economic growth, and workforce transformation. The partnership reinforces India — Telangana's strategic vision to become a global hub for frontier technologies and talent development, strengthening the India-Australia relationship.
