Sigenergy, in partnership with Arausol and Memodo, is constructing Germany's largest DC-coupled photovoltaic (PV) plant with decentralized storage systems in Weissach im Tal. The project will have an installed peak PV capacity of 11.6 MWp and a battery capacity of 20 MWh, distributed across 1,660 Sigenergy battery modules. This DC-coupled system is expected to increase overall efficiency by at least 4% compared to AC-coupled systems, eliminate duplicate inverter infrastructure, and avoid soil sealing. Arausol is managing construction and providing substructures, while Memodo ensures procurement and helped define the system architecture. The grid connection is scheduled for July 2026, aiming to support Germany's energy transition and reduce grid expansion costs.
