ACCA-KSB Leadership Academy Launched in Ghana

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, in partnership with the Southern University of Science and Technology and the Financial Times, has launched the ACCA-KSB Leadership Academy in Ghana. This structured leadership development program is designed to equip 52 second-year university students with professional competencies, ethical grounding, and a global outlook. The program focuses on Ethics, Sustainability, Digital Transformation, and Corporate Governance, aiming to address Ghana's economic challenges, including fiscal pressures and youth unemployment. Ken Williams, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants West and Central Africa Cluster Head, emphasized the initiative's role in shaping national development. The academy offers access to industry experts and a guaranteed internship pathway with Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, enhancing employability. David Asamoah, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Southern University of Science and Technology, and Charles Ofosu Marfo, Provost of the KSB School of Humanities and Social Sciences, highlighted the program's significance in producing socially responsible and professionally prepared graduates. Godwin Acquaye, CEO of Financial Times, urged students to develop skills beyond artificial intelligence's capabilities. The academy is intended to be a scalable model for leadership development across Ghana's tertiary education.
