Thomas Adewumi University acquires virtual dissection

Thomas Adewumi University, located in Kwara State, Nigeria, has acquired and deployed the Asclepius TBK 84 EA Virtual Dissection Table, an 84-inch interactive 3D platform. This technology, supplied by 3B Scientific, is designed for anatomy, radiology, and surgical simulation, marking a new era in medical education for the university. Vice-Chancellor Francisca Onaolapo Oladipo stated that Thomas Adewumi University is now one of the first institutions in Nigeria to integrate virtual dissection technology into its medical curriculum. This innovation allows students to explore the human body digitally, perform virtual dissections, convert CT and MRI scans into 3D models, and simulate pre-surgical procedures, moving beyond traditional cadaver-based methods. The platform also includes access to over 12,000 assessment questions and supports comparative anatomy studies across various animal species. Stakeholders have lauded the initiative, recognizing Thomas Adewumi University's commitment to academic excellence and its role in preparing students for modern, technology-driven clinical practice.
