Benjamin Kalu receives PhD from University of Calabar

Benjamin Karney, the Deputy Speaker of the Nigeria — House of Representatives (Nigeria), was conferred with a Doctor of Laws (PhD) by the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital during its 38th Convocation Ceremony. His doctoral research was recognized as one of the most outstanding projects. In his speech, Benjamin Karney emphasized that a PhD is a call to responsibility and urged fellow graduands to ensure their research translates into real-world impact. He also highlighted his legislative efforts to expand access to education in Nigeria through initiatives such as the Federal College of Education, Bende; the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Item Bende; and the Federal University, Okigwe. Benjamin Karney referenced data from the China — National Bureau of Statistics of China indicating fewer than 100,000 doctoral degree holders in Nigeria, underscoring the responsibility of this intellectual community.
