Pakistan Anti-Polio Vaccination Campaign

First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari has called for public cooperation in a nationwide anti-polio campaign in Pakistan, scheduled from April 13 to 19. The campaign aims to vaccinate over 45 million children under five and provide Vitamin A supplementation. Pakistan has made significant progress, reporting only one polio case in 2026 compared to 31 in 2025, but the threat persists. The campaign is being conducted in coordination with Afghanistan to prevent cross-border transmission. Aseefa Bhutto Zardari emphasized the critical juncture in the fight against the virus and the importance of collective resolve to eradicate polio.
