The positive Phase 2 trial results for Mirvetuximab soravtansine are expected to positively impact AbbVie's stock price and market valuation, as it expands the potential market for this oncology drug. This development signals a significant advancement in the treatment of platinum-sensitive ovarian cancer, potentially increasing AbbVie's competitive edge in the pharmaceutical industry.
AbbVie announced late-breaking positive results from its Phase 2 IMGN853-0420 trial for mirvetuximab soravtansine-gynx (Mirvetuximab soravtansine) in patients with platinum-sensitive ovarian cancer (PSOC). The study, presented at the 2026 Society of Gynecologic Oncology Annual Meeting, demonstrated an objective response rate of 62.7% in the ≥50% folate receptor alpha (FRα)-expressing subgroup. The combination of Mirvetuximab soravtansine plus carboplatin, followed by Mirvetuximab soravtansine monotherapy, showed consistent safety and strong responses, including in patients with prior exposure to PARP inhibitors. This data supports the potential of Mirvetuximab soravtansine as a novel treatment regimen for PSOC, expanding its application beyond its current indication for platinum-resistant ovarian cancer.
