In a major international drug syndicate bust, Gohouri Michael, an Ivorian national, was arrested at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport with 1.49kg of Cocaine, which led to the subsequent arrest of Chudi Daniel Ofomata, a 69-year-old medical doctor, in Nigeria — Ogun State, identified as a coordinator of the syndicate. Recovered from Chudi Daniel Ofomata were Promazepam and Promethazine injections. Other operations included the seizure of 34kg of Cannabis strain in Nigeria — Ogun State, 56.2kg of Cannabis strain in Nigeria — Oyo State, and 118kg of Cannabis strain from a couple in Nigeria — Niger State. In Nigeria — Borno State, a trailer was intercepted carrying 42,290 tablets of Flunitrazepam, 82,700 mils of Codeine syrup, and 10,000 mils of Pentazocine injection. Nigeria — Lagos State saw the interception of a Chisco Transport bus with 15kg of 'Scottish Loud' cannabis and a truck with 26,800 bottles of Codeine-based syrup. In the Nigeria — Federal Capital Territory (Nigeria), a raid on a drug joint resulted in eight arrests and 11.516kg of Cannabis strain seizure. Nigeria — Edo State had the largest seizure, with two trucks carrying a total of 7,245 kilograms of Cannabis strain.
