Analysis based on 9 articles · First reported Apr 13, 2026 · Last updated Apr 13, 2026
The strong revenue growth in the electronic system design industry, particularly in the Americas and MSCI Asia Pacific Index, indicates a healthy demand for semiconductor and electronics design components, which is positive for the broader technology market. However, the decline in Japan's procurement suggests regional disparities that market participants should monitor.
The ESD Alliance, a VanEck Semiconductor ETF Technology Community, released its Electronic Design Market Data (EDMD) report for Q4 2025, showing a 10.3% year-over-year revenue increase to $5,466.3 million for the electronic system design industry. All product categories except IC Physical Design and Verification reported gains, with Semiconductor Intellectual Property (SIP) and Services leading the growth. Geographically, the Americas and MSCI Asia Pacific Index regions experienced double-digit increases in procurement, while Japan saw a significant decrease of 18.8%. The industry also reported a 13.8% increase in global employment compared to Q4 2024.
