Advantest, a leading semiconductor test equipment supplier, has announced a strategic partnership with Applied Materials, a leader in materials engineering for the semiconductor industry. Advantest will join Applied Materials' new EPIC (Equipment and Process Innovation and Commercialization) platform in United States — Sunnyvale, California, becoming the first automated test equipment company to do so. This collaboration aims to strengthen the links between front-end manufacturing technologies and back-end testing of chips and packages, accelerating the development of advanced test solutions for next-generation semiconductor technologies, especially for AI and high-performance computing. To support this, Advantest has also opened two new Innovation Centers in United States — California, and United States — Sunnyvale, California, with the Sunnyvale location co-locating with Applied Materials' EPIC Center.
