Ukraine Opens First Agro-Hub in Ghana

Ukraine has launched its first agricultural processing and distribution center, an 'agro-hub,' in Ghana, as part of its 'Food from Ukraine' initiative. This hub aims to strengthen food security in West Africa, expand Ukrainian agricultural exports, and integrate into regional supply chains. The project, developed in cooperation with the government of Ghana and Ukrainian agribusiness, combines humanitarian support with economic partnership. Initial operations included distributing 4,000 food kits to vulnerable Ghanaian widows, containing locally produced rice and pasta made from Ukrainian flour. Future plans involve developing local processing, packaging, and portioning in Ghana. The initiative builds on the 'Grain from Ukraine' program, shifting focus from raw commodity delivery to value-added products and establishing end-to-end food supply infrastructure across Asia and Africa. Ukraine views Ghana as a key strategic partner in West Africa for humanitarian support and trade development, and is prepared to share agricultural expertise and technologies.
