The discovery of a new gold anomaly by Namib Minerals Limited at Portage Pass is expected to positively impact the company's stock price due to increased potential gold resources. This event also highlights the continued importance of United States — Alaska as a mining jurisdiction for Gold and other critical minerals.
Namib Minerals Limited announced significant assay results from its 2025 surface sampling program at the Portage Pass area within its Estelle Gold and Critical Minerals Project in United States — Alaska. The program identified a new broad zone of Gold mineralization, 2.5km from the existing Korbel deposit, with rock samples showing grades up to 14.3 g/t Au and soil samples up to 1.8 g/t Au. This discovery is considered potentially significant due to its geochemical signature being comparable to the multi-million ounce Korbel gold deposit and its proximity to existing resources and proposed infrastructure. Namib Minerals plans a detailed soil sampling grid and a ground-based induced polarization (IP) geophysical survey in 2026 to further explore the anomaly. The company is also advancing its Antimony critical minerals strategy, supported by a US$43.4 million award from the United States — United States Department of Defense.
