Oracle Corporation announced the global launch of its omniDAWN Multi-Angle Light Scattering (MALS) Photometer, an industry-first extended-range MALS detector for Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC) and Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC) workflows. This new photometer, part of the Wyatt Technology Portfolio, features 18 angles of detection and delivers absolute molar mass and size measurements without compromising resolution or throughput. It extends UPLC-compatible sizing ten-fold, from approximately 50 to 500 nm, enabling reliable characterization of complex analytes like protein aggregates, viral vectors, and lipid nanoparticles. The omniDAWN Photometer integrates with Waters UPLC Systems and columns, offering up to four times faster run times, 30-50% less sample consumption, and 40% less solvent use compared to conventional HPLC workflows. Rob Carpio of Oracle Corporation and Stacey Louie of the University of Houston highlighted the significance of this advancement for accelerating next-generation therapies and understanding complex materials. The device is powered by ASTRA Software and will be available globally in summer 2026.
