Sandra Lee Suffers On-Set Stroke

Sandra Lee, widely known as Dr. Pimple Popper, suffered an ischemic stroke in November while filming the second season of her Lifetime series, 'Dr. Pimple Popper: Breaking Out'. She initially dismissed symptoms like sweating, restlessness, and shooting pains, but later experienced slurred speech and weakness, leading to an MRI confirmation of the stroke. The medical emergency resulted in a part of her brain dying and forced a two-month suspension of the show's production. Sandra Lee underwent physical and occupational therapy for recovery, admitting to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) upon returning to work. She attributes the stroke to uncontrolled blood pressure, cholesterol, and stress, now viewing it as a 'blessing in disguise' to prioritize self-care and encourage others to monitor their health. The second season of 'Dr. Pimple Popper: Breaking Out' is scheduled to premiere on April 20.
