Nokia, Orange, Nvidia AI-RAN Collaboration

Nokia and Orange Group have announced an expanded strategic collaboration to jointly develop and evaluate Artificial Intelligence Radio Access Network (AI-RAN) technologies. This initiative is supported by Nvidia's AI infrastructure, aiming to enhance network performance, energy efficiency, and enable new services for Orange Group customers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The partnership will explore how GPU-based radio processors can improve radio performance and how AI can be integrated into the RAN for predictive optimization and sensing capabilities. The collaboration also focuses on maximizing spectral efficiency for existing and future frequency bands, including the upper 6 GHz band, as mobile networks evolve towards 6G. Laurent Leboucher of Orange Group and Pallavi Mahajan of Nokia emphasized the importance of this collaboration for building more efficient, adaptable, and AI-native networks.
