India — Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced a comprehensive initiative to strengthen technical and vocational education in the capital's Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). This involves establishing new state-of-the-art laboratories and modernizing existing ones at four ITIs in India — Delhi, including ITI Jahangirpuri, ITI Jail Road (Hari Nagar), ITI Arab Ki Sarai (Nizamuddin), and HJB ITI, Mayur Vihar. The upgrades will introduce advanced training in power electronics, industrial automation, renewable energy, modern welding techniques, virtual reality simulators for automotive skills, and electric vehicle (EV) technologies. The goal is to align training with current industry standards, significantly enhance employability, and contribute to economic growth and self-reliance, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Skill India' vision.
