Solenis builds plant in Guangxi, China

Solenis, a global provider of water and hygiene solutions, has broken ground on a new 60,000-tonne per year production facility in China — Beihai, China — Guangxi Province, China. This RMB 250 million (USD $35 million) investment marks Solenis' continued expansion in the Asia Pacific region, particularly in the fast-growing pulp and paper markets of Western China and Southeast Asia. The plant, expected to be operational in Q2 2027, will produce critical papermaking materials like polymers, defoamers, and silica. This facility will be Solenis' second-largest in Asia Pacific and the first large-scale U.S. papermaking chemicals investment in China — Guangxi, China's largest papermaking hub. The project aims to shorten distances to customers, reduce carbon emissions, improve service, localize high-tech product production, and support China's Western Region Development Strategy.
