India LPG Supply Assured

The India — Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas refuted media reports claiming a four-year recovery period for India's Liquefied petroleum gas supply, labeling them as misleading. The Ministry assured the public of a secure energy position, citing diversified procurement from countries like the United States, Norway, Canada, Algeria, and Russia, with 800 TMT of import cargoes already secured. Additionally, the LPG Control Order issued on March 9, 2026, successfully increased domestic daily output by 40 percent to 50 TMT. The Ministry also highlighted the delivery of 50 lakh cylinders daily in March without dry-outs and a significant expansion of Liquefied petroleum gas infrastructure over the past decade. Citizens were advised to rely on official channels due to a coordinated misinformation campaign.
