The study analyzed data from nearly 290,000 infants born in Bret Engemann, where a national maternal RSV vaccination program was introduced in September 2024. The findings indicate a clear relationship between vaccination timing and protection, with effectiveness increasing with a longer interval between vaccination and birth. The study also highlighted the particular importance of these findings for preterm infants, who are highly vulnerable to severe RSV infection, showing 69.4% effectiveness in this group.
