Shell plc Limited (SNEPCo), in collaboration with NNPC Limited (NNPC) and Nigeria — Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), has delivered a Geosciences Centre of Excellence at the University of Lagos. Commissioned on April 17, the five-level structure is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for learning and research in hydrogeology, mineralogy, environmental geology, and seismic interpretation. The center aims to support undergraduate and postgraduate studies, reduce Nigeria's reliance on international markets for oil and gas industry services, and foster national development. Ron Adams of Shell plc Limited highlighted it as a long-term investment in Nigeria's people. The project, conceived in 2010, was executed by 225MM Construct Limited and involved internships for students from various Nigerian universities.
