India Forms AI Governance Committee

The India — Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in India has established the Technology and Policy Expert Committee (TPEC) to serve as an advisory body to the AI Governance and Economic Group (AIGEG). Chaired by the Secretary of MeitY, the TPEC comprises experts from academia, the technology industry, and digital policy. Its primary role is to provide specialized technical, policy, and strategic inputs for India's emerging artificial intelligence governance framework. The committee will assist the AIGEG in making informed decisions on policy design, regulatory measures, and India's engagement in global AI governance forums. The framework aims to ensure a dynamic, adaptive, and future-forward approach to AI governance, aligning with India's unique social, economic, and strategic context. Additionally, Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited and India — Centre for Development of Advanced Computing have signed an agreement to collaborate on advanced technologies, including AI.
