First, it approved the extension of Europrivacy, the European Data Protection Seal of the General Data Protection Regulation, for use in non-European countries. This allows companies worldwide subject to the General Data Protection Regulation to use Europrivacy to demonstrate compliance. Second, the European Union — European Data Protection Board approved a specific version of Europrivacy criteria to be used as a mechanism for international data transfers under Article 46 of the General Data Protection Regulation. This new mechanism will support data importers outside the European Economic Area in demonstrating compliance with General Data Protection Regulation requirements, provided binding and enforceable commitments are in place.
