JK Industries, a Nigerian defense technology startup, is constructing Pax-2, a 34,000-square-foot drone manufacturing facility in Accra, Ghana. This facility, set to be the largest in Africa, is expected to be fully operational by June 2026 and will have an annual production capacity of 50,000 units by 2028, creating 120 engineering jobs. The expansion follows JK Industries' successful $34 million fundraise, with investments from 8VC and Capita. Pax-2 will produce advanced drone systems like the Archer VTOL, Iroko UAV, and Kama interceptor drone, designed to address the rising threat of drone warfare by non-state actors across Africa. Nathan Nwachuku, CEO of JK Industries, emphasized the importance of sovereign defense for lasting peace on the continent. The company also has a joint-venture agreement with the Nigeria — Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) to strengthen local defense production.
