Obi-Kwankwaso Movement Forms for ADC Ticket

Supporters of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso have launched the Obi-Kwankwaso Movement, a new political pressure group, to pursue a joint presidential ticket under the Nigeria — African Democratic Congress for the 2027 general elections in Nigeria. This initiative is a coalition of the Obidient Movement, Kwankwasiyya, the Nigeria — New Nigeria People s Party, and the Nigeria — African Democratic Congress, aiming for systemic reform and national rebirth. The movement has established structures across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. This development signals a significant realignment within the opposition coalition, which is currently experiencing heightened tensions due to multiple aspirants, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who has declared his intention to contest the Nigeria — African Democratic Congress primaries and stated he will not step down. Other notable figures like Rotimi Amaechi, Aminu Tambuwal, and Nasir El-Rufai are also eyeing the Nigeria — African Democratic Congress ticket. The Nigeria — Labour Party (Nigeria) has distanced itself from social media calls for Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso to return to its fold, emphasizing the ongoing political maneuvering.
