UIDAI Onboards 100 Entities for Aadhaar

The India — Aadhaar (UIDAI) has successfully onboarded 100 entities as Offline Verification Seeking Entities (OVSEs) within three months of the system's rollout. This achievement, announced by the India — Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, marks a significant advancement in enabling secure, consent-based, and paperless identity verification through the India — Aadhaar offline mechanism. These entities, spanning government departments, fintech, hospitality, education, and identity verification, will leverage QR code-based verification and digitally signed documents, reducing the need for real-time connectivity to UIDAI's central database. This initiative enhances privacy by allowing India — Aadhaar holders to share only minimum necessary data, aligns with India's vision for a future-ready Digital Public Infrastructure, and aims to boost 'Ease of Living' by simplifying interactions with service providers, offering faster onboarding, reduced paperwork, and greater control over personal information.
